Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 15, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how InterviewClimb ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit https://interviewclimb.com or use the InterviewClimb application. Practicing an interview involves sharing information that can be sensitive: your voice, your career history, and how you talk about past employers. This policy addresses that specifically rather than only covering general website usage.

Information we collect

Depending on how you use InterviewClimb, this can include:

  • Account information such as your name and email address.
  • Microphone access and audio recordings, if you complete a spoken practice session.
  • Transcripts generated from your spoken or written responses.
  • Interview responses, resumes, and job descriptions you submit for personalized practice or feedback.
  • Usage data such as pages visited, device/browser type, and general location, typically collected through analytics tools.

Microphone access is only requested when you start a spoken practice session, and your browser or device will ask you to grant that permission directly. InterviewClimb cannot access your microphone without that explicit prompt.

Audio, transcripts, and how long we keep them

We retain audio recordings and transcripts only for as long as needed to provide you feedback and let you review your practice history, or until you delete them or your account. Where we no longer need the original audio once a transcript has been generated, we aim to remove it rather than keep both indefinitely.

How AI processing works

InterviewClimb uses AI systems, including third-party AI providers, to generate interview questions, transcribe spoken responses, and produce feedback. Your practice content (audio, transcripts, resumes, and job descriptions you submit) is processed by these systems in order to generate that feedback.

We do not use your practice content to train AI models for the benefit of other users without your explicit consent. Where a third-party AI provider is involved in processing your content, we work with providers under terms that restrict their use of your data to providing the service, not training their own general-purpose models.

How we use information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve our services.
  • To generate personalized practice questions and feedback.
  • To communicate with you about your account, updates, or support requests.
  • To monitor and analyze usage trends to improve our website and product.

Sharing of information and subprocessors

We do not sell your personal information. We share information with service providers who help us operate the product, including hosting providers, analytics tools, customer support tools, and the AI providers described above, under confidentiality obligations, or when required by law.

Some of our service providers may process data outside your country of residence. Where that applies, we take steps required by applicable law to ensure your information remains protected during that transfer.

Cookies and analytics

We may use cookies and similar technologies, along with services such as Google Analytics and Google Search Console, to understand how our website is used and to improve our content and performance.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to opt out of certain processing:

  • All users: you can request deletion of your account, along with the audio, transcripts, and other content associated with it, at any time.
  • California residents (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know what personal information (including voice data) we hold about you, to request its deletion, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information.
  • Illinois residents (BIPA): where any processing of your voice is used to generate a voiceprint or otherwise identify you biometrically, we obtain consent first and maintain a retention and destruction schedule for that data.
  • EU/UK residents (GDPR): you have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port your data, and to object to certain processing, under the legal bases described in this policy.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected].

Security

We use encryption in transit and at rest for stored audio, transcripts, and account data, and limit access to information on a need-to-know basis.

Changes to this policy

If we add a new AI feature, change which providers process your data, or change our retention practices, we'll update this page and, for material changes, make a reasonable effort to notify active users directly.
